About Phil Denton Engineering
Manufacturers of Vintage and Classic Japanese Motorcycle Components

Restoring a Classic Motorcycle is a very special and personal process. The end result is always the complete embodiment of the owner's hopes, dreams and desires. Some want originality, others a glistening concourse contender and yet others a radically re-engineered machine to capture a different look with updated components. The spectrum is enormously wide and our hobby all the richer for that.
Personally, I have always tried to achieve originality with practicality. I like to use my bikes all year round and while I like them to look smart, they don't get pampered. Deterioration of cadmium, zinc and chromium plated parts, therefore, is always a concern and re-plating rarely gives successful results.
As an Engineer, I'm fortunate to have the knowledge and skills that have enabled me to combat such deterioration on my own bikes by re-manufacturing the affected components in Stainless Steel. I've always tried to recreate components that are faithful to the original item but have a level of quality that generates a 'wow factor'.
As my hobby has grown into a business, my customers have constantly given me very encouraging feedback. Hopefully, I do and will continue to achieve my goal of producing the highest quality components available: components that I would be proud to show off on my own machines. A couple of original and our own replacement parts are shown below.

In April 2005, my son, Stephen, came to work with me. A highly skilled Luthier (Guitar Maker) by training, he has very successfully transferred those skills to Engineering and he's as fussy and demanding as I am about quality. He's also developing the restoration side of the business, so watch out for news on that front.
The price lists that you will see here on our website cover the models that we are most often asked to make parts for. We try to keep most of these parts in stock. We can and do make similar items for many other models.
We are also happy to make 'one off' components, but do remember that these can be very time consuming to make and this must be considered in your budget.
Stainless steel is not cheap, but remember, quality is priceless.
Many thanks for visiting our website.
